The Amador Branch, American Association of University Women, would like to invite you to join us for our spectacular 41st Annual Home Tour in Jackson, California. This year’s tour will feature historic homes and sites, an art show, and wine tasting. Guests will also enjoy tea and cookies while listening to live music set in a gorgeous garden. Specific information will be available soon.
In addition to these festivities, the AAUW will raffle off an opportunity quilt. The quilt has been hand-stitched with love to help raise money for future generations of educated women in our community.
This annual event supports the Amador AAUW branch’s efforts to provide academic scholarships to both girls and women of Amador County. Each year, we send several seventh grade girls to “Tech Trek,” a fascinating and educational summer program designed to enrich and inspire young girls in both math and science. For the second year we will be offering prizes for young local writers in our annual “Women’s History Month Essay Contest.” In addition to supporting the youth of our community, the branch proudly offers scholarships for women attending community colleges and universities, including both upper division and graduate coursework.
To support our efforts to better serve this community, please purchase tickets for you, your family, and friends to enjoy a fun day in Jackson, California. Advance tickets, which will be on sale mid-March 2013, are $22. Tickets will sell for $25 on tour day. Locations to purchase tickets will be announced later. Tickets will also be available by mail order.
